Kelly Unger has loved to write from a young age and has stacks of vowel-anemic stories to prove it. As a child, her writing won her tickets to a Minnesota Twins baseball game and a heart-shaped Waterford crystal pen holder.
Kelly also enjoys travel. She has visited six continents (still coming for you, Australia) and has lived as a foreign exchange student in Germany, a study-abroader in Austria, and an English teacher in China. She grew up in Minnesota and has lived in the Madison, Wisconsin, area for most of her adulthood. Like other reasonable human beings, Kelly likes music, although her talents in this area are iffy. Her husband has graciously included her on numerous tracks for his otherwise-flawless band, Dollhouse Yellow. Kelly is the recipient of the Wagner-Berger Prize for Excellence in Creative Writing. Her writing has appeared in Slackjaw, Robot Butt, Studio One, RunMinnesota, and other publications. She has also edited several books of history. |
